Shaping an Education Agenda
Advocates for Children of New York, in partnership with the Center for Arts Education and the A+ NYC Coalition, will be hosting a meeting, Shaping an Education Agenda for the Next Mayor, to solicit your views on education in the city. Originally scheduled for November 5th, we have rescheduled this event for Monday, November 19th (between 36th and 37th streets) on the 10th floor, Studio D.
At the meeting you will be asked to weigh in on important questions, including:
What is your vision for an ideal education?
What needs to happen in the classroom to achieve that vision?
What do you want a student to know, learn and do before they graduate from high school?
This effort is part of an initiative aimed at focusing the next mayor's attention on key issues that affect teaching and learning in schools and all students' preparation for college and career. At the end of the community input process, a platform representing the views of thousands of New Yorkers will be presented to the 2013 mayoral candidates.
